Spatial Integration Help

Tools

Note

Coming in Spatial Integration version 3: Flythrough, Data Processing, Edit, the Assistant and vertical exaggeration.

Tools are the things you use while working with the scene, rather than things that load data. They let you interrogate what you are seeing, control how much of it is drawn, move around it, process your data and share the result.

Most tools are opened from the Tool flyout along the right edge of the window, or from the buttons at the right-hand end of the status bar. Many also have a keyboard shortcut, shown in brackets below, so you can switch them on without moving the mouse away from what you are looking at.

Status Bar Tool Buttons

The Tool Flyout

From top to bottom:

  • Help (F1): Open this help.
  • Information (i): Point at anything in the scene to see its details, and pin information panels in the scene.
  • Bookmarks: Save a view and return to it later with a single key press.
  • Flythrough: Fly the camera along a path that is also a timeline of events and slides, present it step by step, or record it to video.
  • Asset Animations: Play, pause and stop the animations built into 3D models.
  • Clip Objects: Restrict what is drawn so you can see into a crowded scene.
  • Data Processing: Interpolation of drillhole and point data, the Imager, and FFT filtering of grids.
  • Edit: Edit the vertices and features of editable layers in the scene.
  • Assistant (a): Ask questions about the loaded data and give commands in plain language.
  • Configure: Settings that apply to Spatial Integration as a whole.

The Status Bar

  • Vertical Exaggeration: The VE slider stretches the scene vertically to bring out low relief.
  • Edit: Toggle edit mode.
  • Legend (l): Show what the colours and symbols in your scene mean.
  • Measure (m): Report the true 3D distance and orientation between two picked points.
  • Screenshot (F12): Save an image of the scene.
  • Graticule (g): Draw a labelled reference grid through the scene.
  • Sun (o): Set the direction of the light shining on the scene.
  • Perspective & Orthographic Views: Switch between the two camera modes.

The Layer Control window (\) gives another way to show, hide and fade layers.
