Project
Note
Coming in Spatial Integration version 3: LineDB and DrillDB files, and the conversion of point and drillhole data from older projects.
A project file (.si) holds everything about your data and how you want to present it.
Most of your data is read directly from the original files: surface elevation grids and images, GIS files, LineDB files, DrillDB files, point clouds and 3D assets. You can keep working on them in other software, and Spatial Integration shows the changes the next time you open the project.
The Project flyout lets you:
- Create a new project
- Open an existing project, including from the recently used list
- Save the project, or save it under a new name
- Package the project: copy the project and its data files to a folder that can be zipped and sent to someone else
- Close the project and return to the Welcome screen
Projects from earlier versions
Older projects may hold point data imported with the Point Manager, which has been retired. When such a project is opened, each point dataset is written to a LineDB file in the project folder and its layer becomes a LineDB layer, keeping its symbology. A dataset that had no layer gets one, hidden. A copy of the project as it was is kept beside it, with .pointmanager.bak added to its name.
Drillholes stored inside older projects are converted in the same way: each drill group is written to a DrillDB file in the project folder, and a copy of the original project is kept with .drillmanager.bak added to its name.
